Over 70 motorcyclists gathered in Opechee Park for the 20th Annual City of Laconia Bike Show, during the 102nd Laconia Motorcycle Week on Friday morning. The show was created in 2005, to raise money for the city. There’s a registration fee to participate, but anyone can come and show off their bike. This year, there were 12 participants who registered, and some years have had up to 40. Winners of the show included Owen Campbell in the trike category for his 1966 Honda Dream, Brandon Alheri in the Bagger category for a 2013 Victory Cross Country, and Travis Follansbee for his custom 1994 Harley-Davidson Sportster. Best Paint and Best in Show went to David Thibeault for his custom trike honoring veterans and first responders. Laconia Motorcycle Week Association Deputy Director Jennifer Anderson said general attendance was much higher this year than other years. She is happy to see so many people. “The city loves bikers, and wanted to do something.”
