LACONIA — The Laconia School Board will review an update to the goals and timeline of the district's strategic plan, according to the board packet of materials prepared for its regular meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The board will also hear a presentation about literacy from the principals of the city's three elementary schools.
Also included in the board packet in the superintendent's report is a letter from the state Attorney General's Office to Laconia Education Association Union President Tara Columb. In an investigation, the AG's office found that she and other union members had used district email domains, and therefore public resources, to campaign against Ward 2 Board Member Laura Dunn, who fended off a challenger in municipal elections last November. The letter states Columb's use of public resources to electioneer broke state law and the LEA and its members must "cease and desist" such violative actions. The superintendent's report notes the LEA "is no longer using the District’s network and hardware for any association business."
