GILFORD — The selectboard meets Wednesday night, to discuss a public safety memorandum of understanding with BankNH Pavilion, a sewer engineering study, and an update on the public works building construction, among a variety of other business.

The board will also share Memorial Day parade details, which is slated for 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25, starting from Gilford Community Church.

The parade participants will assemble at the church parking lot at 9:45 am., and a ceremony will take place at the World War I and II Veterans Memorial, across from the church. There will be a raising of the flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, an invocation, the placing of a wreath, and the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The parade will then proceed to Pine Grove Cemetery, for a flag-raising at 10:30 a.m. There, another wreath will be placed, along with a benediction, remarks and the playing of "Taps." The parade will return to Gilford Community Church at 10:45 a.m.

Following the approval of minutes, Grace McNamara has an appointment scheduled for an update on Lakes Region Public Access.

Public Works Director Meghan Theriault is expected to give an update on the public works garage construction progress, and also request wooden posts and rails.

At the last meeting, Theriault told the selectboard any delays that occurred early in the building process had been overcome. The construction has been led by Bonnette, Page & Stone, who have used several contractors concurrently.

Theriault said at the end of April, the project budget was expected to be more than half spent, and she expected a project estimate to be performed by BPS. A concrete pour was also scheduled for Wednesday, and the building has a projected August completion date.

Discussion on a memo with BankNH Pavilion will follow, and Town Administrator Scott Dunn said that specifically involves the agreement between the music venue and the town’s police and fire departments.

Also on the agenda, related to BankNH Pavilion, is an engineering report about “sewer smells.” Dunn said there have been complaints about a smell in the surrounding neighborhood, and this will be addressed by the board.

Under new business, the town requested to dredge a brook that flows through 96 Intervale Road. There will also be a resignation on the Conservation Commission, an employee out-of-state travel request, an insurance renewal through HealthTrust, Energy Committee appointments, and information about Old Home Day fireworks.

The selectboard meets in the first floor conference room of Town Hall 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13.
