LACONIA — The City Council on Tuesday approved 3-year collective bargaining agreements with employees covered by the Laconia Professional Firefighters Association and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
Each group will get a cost-of-living increase of 2.1 percent, based on last year’s Consumer Price Index.
Pay increases for the following two years will also be based on the Consumer Price Index, not to exceed 2.5 percent or be less than 1 percent.
The pay raise goes into effect late this month. Previous contracts for the two groups expired July 1. There will be no retroactive pay.
City Manager Scott Myers said the cost-of-living increases are identical to those given to other Laconia city bargaining groups and to employees who don’t bargain collectively.
