LACONIA — Police are investigating a late-night stabbing on Union Avenue.
Police were called just before midnight on Wednesday to 661 Union Ave., after a reported knife assault.
Officers encountered a male victim bleeding heavily from the head and arm. Through their initial investigation, police learned the stabbing took place at 665 Union Ave., though the victim refused to cooperate.
Police believe the victim knows the identity of the suspect, who was not immediately captured.
The victim, who survived the ordeal, was transported by firefighters to Concord Hospital-Laconia for treatment of his injuries. Two officers with New Hampshire State Police, who were in the area, responded to offer assistance to Laconia police, who are running the investigation.
“The investigation continues at this time,” Police Chief Matt Canfield said Thursday morning.
Anyone who may have heard or witnessed the assault is encouraged to reach out to the Laconia Police Department with information. Police can be reached at 603-524-5257.
