Laughter all around! Jeopardy! fans cracked up at a contestant’s response about procreating. The contestant spoke out about it after fans said she would go viral.

Chris D’Angelo, from Washington, D.C., went into his fourth game with a three-day total of $53,600. On May 25, the content manager played against Jack Kelly, from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Veronica Matthews, from Martinez, California.

D’Angelo found the first Daily Double on clue two. He had $600 in his bank and wagered the allotted $1,000 in “See the City.” The clue was “In Northern Mexico, a capital city, a state & a desert all have this name.”

“What is Chihuahua?” he answered correctly, giving him $1,600.

D’Angelo ended the round with $8,600. Kelly, a PhD student, had $1,400. Matthews, an after-school science instructor, was in third place with $800.

In Double Jeopardy, D’Angelo found the first DD on clue five. He had $10,600 and wagered $4,400. In “The Bible,” the clue was “This book whose name means ‘expressions of sorrow’ is read on the ninth of Av, a Jewish observance marking the Temples’ destruction.”

He correctly answered with “What is Lamentations?” giving him $15,000. He then went on to find the last DD on clue eight. This time, D’Angelo had $16,200 and wagered $3,800.

In “Acronyms & Initialisms,” the clue read, “Haribo, maker of those yummy gummi candies is an acronym for its founder, Hans Riegel of this German city.”

“What is Bonn?” D’Angelo responded correctly. This gave him a wide lead with $20,000.

Clue 25 in “Public Health Firsts,” read “In November 2025, the Maldives enforced the world’s first-ever ‘generational ban’, barring anyone born after 2006 from ever doing this.”

Matthews answered, “What is procreate?” She was wrong since the correct response was “smoking.” The other two contestants did not get the correct response. Kelly cracked up and so did fans.

Fans reacted to her hilarious response on Reddit. “‘Procreate’ was one of the more unintentionally funny responses in awhile,” one fan said.

“Jack’s face at the wrong answer made me laugh,” another wrote.

“‘Procreate’ LMAO poor woman is gonna be on YouTube,” a fan said.

Matthews responded, “I’m not against it lol.”

“You’re a legend in our house now, way to take it in stride queen,” a fan responded.

“If I wasn’t gonna win, having a possibly viral moment is decent consolation,” the contestant replied.

“They should ban procreating,” a fan joked.

“My incorrect response of ‘What is procreate?’ that apparently received a lot of laughter backstage from the other contestants,” Matthews shared.

D’Angelo ended with $25,200. Kelly had $7,000. Matthews was still in third place with $4,000.

The category for Final Jeopardy was “Southern Africa.” The clue was “Called the ‘Calendar Lake’ because it’s about 365 miles long & 52 miles wide, it shares its name with a country.”

Matthews answered, “What is Namibia?” She was wrong and wagered $731, bringing her total to $3,269. Both Kelly and D’Angelo had the correct response of “What is Lake Malawi?”

Kelly wagered $100, giving him $7,100. D’Angelo wagered $4,800, making his total $30,000. He won the game and had a four-day total of $83,600.
