Nick Pasqual, an actor who appeared in Season 7 of How I Met Your Mother, has been found guilty of attempted murder in the 2024 attack of Allie Shehorn, who was once his girlfriend.

Citing court records, Entertainment Weekly reports Pasqual was convicted of every criminal charge related to the attack after pleading not guilty to the allegations. In addition to the attempted murder charge, Pasqual was found guilty of one count of first-degree burglary and three counts of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent.

In another result of Pasqual’s trial, which lasted from April 27 to May 8, a jury also deemed two special allegations true: the cause of great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence and the use of a deadly weapon. Pasqual was also convicted of one count of forcible rape from a month before the attack.

Pasqual is due for a sentencing hearing in Los Angeles on June 2. He faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison.

Shehorn, a makeup artist, took the witness stand during the trial, with scars visible on her arm and neck, according to KABC. She testified that her relationship with Pasqual had turned abusive and that she’d taken out a restraining order against him.

She also recalled one violent fight that precipitated their breakup. “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door,” she said.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office previously said Shehorn was repeatedly stabbed in home in L.A.’s Shadow Hills neighborhood early in the morning on May 23, 2024, according to the Los Angeles Times. Prosecutors alleged Pasqual broke into the residence, attacked Shehorn with a knife, and fled. He was ultimately stopped by authorities at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Friends speculated that Shehorn had been stabbed more than 20 times, and she underwent emergency surgery and spent days in the ICU, the Times adds.

Pasqual and Shehorn met on the set of the 2023 film Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, in which he had an uncredited role and she worked as a makeup artist.

In addition to playing Will in the HIMYM episode “Field Trip,” Pasqual’s credits include parts in the TV series Gone, One Dollar, America’s Most Wanted, and Archive 81.

Shehorn has done makeup work for the films Fall, Babylon, Family Switch, and Mean Girls.
