The latest morning news ratings show the gap tightening between NBC News’ Today and ABC News’ Good Morning America in the battle for the number one spot.

According to AdWeek, citing national live+same-day big data plus program ratings from Nielsen, Today held onto the top spot with 3.014 million total viewers and 597,000 viewers in the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic for the week of April 27. The show was up 1 percent in total viewers but down 7 percent in the demo compared to the week prior.

Compared to the same period in 2025, Today, hosted by the recently returning Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, was up 17 percent in total viewers and flat in the demo.

GMA, meanwhile, averaged 2.961 million total viewers and 475,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo for the week of April 27. The show was up 1 percent in total viewers but down 6 percent in the demo compared to the week before.

Year over year, GMA, hosted by Robin RobertsGeorge Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, was up 10 percent in total viewers and up 7 percent in the key demo.

Elsewhere, CBS Mornings, hosted by Gayle King and Nate Burleson, averaged 1.815 million total viewers and 298,000 demo viewers for the week of April 27. The show was up 3 percent in total viewers but down 4 percent in the demo compared to the previous week.

CBS Mornings was also down 6 percent in total viewers and down 1 percent in the demo compared to the same period last year.
