Wayne R. Fletcher, 93, of Meredith, died on Sept. 27, 2025.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1932, in Laconia, the youngest child of Almon H. and Alice (née Shastany) Fletcher. He attended Laconia schools, graduating with the class of 1952. In his early years Wayne was active in skiing and ski jumping, and was captain of the Laconia Ski Team in his senior year.
Wayne spent four years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, returning to Laconia to work for several companies, mainly Saymore Trophy Co. He was a life member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by siblings Allen, Charles (Bud), Melmon, Lillian, Jane and Ella, and by his first wife, Carol (née Sibson) Fletcher.
He leaves his second wife of 58 years, Priscilla; his children, James of Plymouth, Donna of Meredith, Jon and his wife Ruth-Ann of Newport, Vermont, and Greg and his wife Carla of New Zealand; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Lee Sibson of Gilford; brother-in-law Joseph C. Morse of Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Meredith at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11, followed by burial in the church cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
