LACONIA — Walter W. Avery, 88, of 72 Jefferson Street, Lakeport and formerly of 295 Mechanic Street, Lakeport, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, December 13, 2005. He was the widower of
Elizabeth Avery who died in 1982.
Mr. Avery was born December 31, 1916 in Flushing, New York, the son of Marcellus C. and Abigail (Pendleton)
Avery. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Avery lived most of his life in Lakeport. He was
employed as a field engineer for Motorola for many years.
Mr. Avery was an active member in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was naturalist and enjoyed nature photography.
Survivors include his son, Stephen D. Avery, of Newburyport, Mass.; a grandson, Stephen C. Avery of Hopkinton; a sister, Ruth Falloni, of Flushing, New York; and a nephew, Mark and two nieces, Suzanne and
Barbara.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prescott Farm Audubon Center, 888 White Oaks Road, Laconia, NH 03246.
