QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — Thomas (Tom) C. Buban, 57, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Glens Falls Hospital; he was surrounded by his loving family following several years of courageously battling heart problems.
Born on March 11, 1948 in Central Falls, R.I., he was the son of Charles and Mary (Tetreault) Buban.
Tom began his 21-year management career in 1975 at Diamond Lumber in Pawtucket, R.I. Rapid business successes transitioned his family throughout the Northeast, including a ten-year period in Laconia. Tom retired due to health issues in 1996 from Wickes Lumber.
His fondest memories were spending time with his wife, three sons and their families. Tom’s hobbies included hiking in the White Mountains, boating on Lake George and scuba diving. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed coaching football and baseball.
He was predeceased in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marcie Buban, whom he married on February 14, 1971; his three sons, Charles (Tom) Buban III and his wife Jessica of Stratham, Eric W. Buban and his wife Jill of Queensbury, N.Y., and Dirk M. Buban of Los Angeles, Calif.; his grandchildren, Jake and Katie Buban of Stratham; his sister, Deborah Boomer and her husband Dobbs of East Providence, R.I.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m., on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
