LACONIA — Thelma Doris Osborne, formerly of 25 Union Avenue, passed away at the age of 91 at the Belknap

County Nursing Home on January 6, 2005. She was the widow of John J. Osborne. Mrs. Osborne was born May 12, 1913 in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of Robert W. and Bessie Jane Crandall.

She lived in Plymouth for many years and in 1975, Thelma and John retired to Bridgewater, and eventually took up residence in Laconia. She was a much beloved member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where she served for decades as Sabbath school teacher, community services volunteer, deaconess, and elder. Until recently, she was also an active member of the Christian Women's Club and Friday Morning Group. Her beautiful Christian life was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Mrs. Osborne is survived by her daughter, Joan Belanger, of Franklin; her sister-in-law, Rose Crandall; several generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who cherished and admired this devoted Christian lady. She was predeceased by her parents Robert & Bessie Crandall; by her husband, John; and by siblings, Hattie Gavel, Marion Storey, Greta Sweetser, Everett Crandall, Horace Crandall and Herbert Crandall.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Laconia Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 241 Province Street, Laconia. Pastor Cliff Gleason, pastor of the church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Whittemore Point Cemetery, Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a contribution for tsunami victim?s relief to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA International), 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904 or to a favorite charity.
