It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Parenteau on March 11, 2025, at the age of 69, at Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin following a period of declining health due to dementia.

Susan was born on Nov. 15, 1955, in Laconia. She cherished living in Tilton and Northfield most of her life. Susan lived a life filled with love, dedication and warmth.

She proudly served as a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service, a role she fulfilled with dedication and excellence for 35 years. Her career was marked by hard work and commitment, a testament to her strong work ethic and passion for serving her community.

Those who knew Susan will remember her love for the excitement of gambling, especially while playing Texas Hold 'em and Bingo. She was also an avid reader, often found with a book in hand. Perhaps most lovingly, she shared her life with her furry companion, Sweetie Pie, who brought her immense joy.

Susan is survived by her loving mother, Joanne Jordan, and her devoted children, Owen and Drew Parenteau. Her family also includes her siblings, Scott Jordan and his wife Dodie, Robert Jordan and his wife Nancy, and Glen Jordan and his significant other Nancy, Jill Jordan, Lynn Crosby and her husband Brad, Laurie Robichaud and her partner Mike Yarbrough. Susan will be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Owen and Collin Parenteau; many cousins, nieces, nephews and two aunts. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert J. Jordan, and her nephew, William Jordan.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the visiting nurses at the Granite VNA Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Visiting hours will be held at the Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St. in Northfield from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 20. Immediately following, a reception will be held at the American Legion Post 49 in Northfield.

In lieu of flowers, Susan's family asks that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Susan's name, honoring her generous and giving spirit.
