Sharyn Labraney, formally of Sandogardy Pond Road, Northfield, passed on to eternal life on after an extended illness.

Born on June 12, 1948, in Meredith, Sharyn was the daughter of Richard H. Perkins and Chatherine A. (Jobin) Perkins. Sharyn spent her formative years on Chase Road in Meredith with her parents and eight siblings. Educated in the Meredith School system, she was a proud graduate of Inter-Lakes High School, class of 1967.

Higher education was essentially pertinent in her quest for vocational academic excellence. Sharyn earned with the highest honors diplomas in child psychology, drug and alcohol treatment specialist and psychology and social work, all from the Stratford Career Institute.

In Sharyn’s professional life, she was employed with the Laconia State School, followed by the Lakes Region Community Services Council. She later branched out in the field of adolescent child care for 12 years.

In 1982, Sharyn married the love of her life, Roger Labraney. A union that would endure for 40 years until Roger’s passing in 2022. With love, determination, and an unshakeable sense of grit, they built their home on Sandogardy Pond Road.

With Roger, Sharyn was instrumental in assisting the parents of Jesse and Riley in their development from early childhood to adulthood, with the reward of witnessing them advance into respectful, decent, and productive citizens. It was this essential teaching craft that was a definable hallmark in her career.

Sharyn is survived by her son, Scott E. Smith of Laconia. Grandchildren: Scott A. Smith of Conway, Kiyana of Massachusetts, and Kayla of Minnesota. Sisters: Donna Giles of California, Dawn (Steve) Durand of Meredith, and Margaret (Matthew) Tetreault of Laconia.

Sharyn was also a proud member of the Pomona and Wicwas Grange.

Perpetual internment will be at the Clark Cemetery in Tilton, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Roger. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the New Hampshire Humane Society would be appreciated.

The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.
