Arthur Francis Casey Jr., dedicated husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on July 24, 2026, after a long illness. He had just turned 75.

Arthur was born April 20, 1951, in Boston, and raised in Quincy. He was married to Cheryl Volpe on Aug. 15, 1976, where they raised their two children until they moved to their summer home permanently in Bristol.

Arthur graduated from N. Quincy High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College. While at Boston College, he attended U.S. Marine Corps Reserve training. He enlisted in the Marine Corps, attended officer basic training and was commissioned as a second lieutenant.

Arthur worked as an executive assistant to Quincy Mayor Joe LaRaia during his term from 1976 to 1978. From there, he went to work for the O’Connell brothers of Quincy, where he established a lifelong friendship with Peter O’Connell and worked on multiple projects both in the United States and Northern Ireland. Arthur also served on the admissions committee for Boston College and his Bristol condo association board. He worked on multiple projects for the association even after he was no longer serving.

Arthur was an excellent cook and hosted many parties featuring his cuisine, including an annual Fourth of July celebration and an annual croquet tournament. He wrote a cookbook featuring all his favorite recipes for his family.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Volpe) Casey; his sister, Maureen Taylor; his son, Ryan Casey and daughter-in-law Gail (Norris) Casey; his daughter, Brieanna Casey and Cody Mason; his grandchildren, Kurt and Dean Casey; and his nephews, Jonathan Taylor and wife Monica and Christopher Taylor. He is predeceased by his parents, Leona (George) Casey and Arthur F. Casey Sr.

Services will be held at St. Clare’s Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree, Massachusetts, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.
