LACONIA — Ronald Gerard Dionne, 77, of Benton Drive, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2025, at Mountain Ridge Center, Franklin, under the care of hospice. Lakes Region VNA Hospice Team provided compassionate end-of-life care to Ron. We are forever grateful.

Ron was born on Jan. 7, 1948, in Rochester, the son of the late Roland Dionne and Cecile (Roy) Dionne.

He graduated from Laconia High School playing sports including baseball and football. After high school he played on a softball league as a catcher. His favorite game was playing against the King and his Court.

He graduated from Nashua Community College with a degree in telecommunications. He was employed by Verizon for 35 years. He was a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 68. He enjoyed helping the scouts work on their badges, especially those working toward Eagle Scout status. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf and watching sports. He was a member of the Elks for over 50 years. He enjoyed working at the carnivals with his brother-in-law, Tom Gilbert. Above all, Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Dionne; sons Joel Dionne of Houston, Texas, and Jefferey Dionne and his wife Kylee of Laconia; daughter Gigi Mouawad and her companion David Paul of Northfield; brother David Dionne and his wife Wendy of Concord; sister Joan Smith and her husband Calvin of Elk Grove, California; six grandchildren, Ashley Lahey, Samantha Dionne, Tiffany Dionne, Marcel Dionne, Alexis Dionne and Madeline Dionne; and two great-grandchildren, Leland Sabin and Paisley Lahey.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Union Cemetery, Academy Street.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations in Ronald’s name be made to the Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association, 186 Waukewan St. #6023, Meredith, NH 03253.
