Ronald C. Largey, aka “Captain Ron,” died peacefully on Sept. 25, 2025, at home with Linda, his wife of 53 years, by his side.

Largey Sr. Ron leaves behind two brothers, Paul Largey Jr. and wife Kathleen and Stephen Largey and wife Mary; nephews John, Jimmy, Mark and Patrick Largey; and nieces Erin Largey and Jill Ayn Largey. He also leaves behind his two beloved fur babies, “Captain" and "Morgan.”

Ron graduated from Leominster Trade High with an engineering background. He had numerous talents in design, engineering, and construction of many unique landmarks, such as a working lighthouse at the entrance of Winter Harbor Yacht Club on Lake Winnipesaukee and many other works of art. Ron could design and build almost anything.

Ron was employed at Simplex Time Recorder in Gardner for many years before leaving them to open his own R.C. Largey Construction Co. Ron worked as a subcontractor for Design Build Systems out of Worcester, subcontracting site work for steel buildings erected in the Worcester area until retirement.

Ron and Linda spent over 60 years on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Ron served as a commodore of the Winter Harbor Yacht Club in 1981. His legacy on Lake Winnipesaukee is being the owner and pilot of the greatest boat on the lake for over 60 years, a 44’ Hubert Johnson Cruiser named the “Great Escape.” The boat was the former U.S. Mailboat “Tonimar.”

Rotary International presented Ron with the distinguished Paul Harris Award for all the services he gave to the Leominster Rotary Club.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, Massachusetts, from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to American Parkinson’s Disease Control at P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.
