LACONIA — Richard E. O'Neil, 84, of 25 Union Avenue, died at the Genesis Eldercare Network, Laconia Center

on Wednesday, April 27, 2005. He was the widower of Ruth (Hutchins) O'Neil, who died in 1997.

Mr. O'Neil was born August 25, 1920 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of Edward and Edith (Thompson) O'Neil. Mr. O'Neil served in the U. S. Army during WWII.

He lived in Connecticut for many years before moving to Laconia thirty-five years ago. He was employed at Ames Department Store for several years.

Survivors include a nephew, David Litke, of Massachusetts, and Mr. O'Neil's guardian, Linda Hubbard, of Laconia.

There will be no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind, McGreal

Sight Center, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301-9977.
