NEW HAMPTON — Matthew John Jamison, 58, of 373 Hatch Corner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec.r 23, 2015.

Matt was a gift to everyone who knew him. As a follower of Jesus Christ, his greatest loves were the Lord and his family. To know Matt was to feel the extension of God's love.

He was born to George and Jacqueline (Waugh) Jamison on Oct. 9, 1957, in Rumford, Maine, but lived in Rangeley, Maine, for most of his life.

Matt was passionate about the outdoors, and you could find him hunting, boating or fishing. He loved his 36-year career as a logger, which brought him and his family to New Hampshire in 2001 where he founded Jamison Logging.

Matt was a sportsman. He loved the game of baseball and was also a dedicated Patriots fan. Matt had a servant's heart, enjoyed the fellowship of his community, and attended First Baptist Church of Meredith. Regardless of where he was or what he was doing, Matt brought his warmth and infectious smile.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Holly (Spanks) Jamison of New Hampton; three sons, Joshua Jamison and his wife Jessica of Corning, New York, Jesse Jamison and his wife Sierra of Greenville, and Howie Hutchinson and his wife Briana of Denver; two daughters, Brittany Hutchinson of Denver, and Zoe Jamison of New Hampton; his father and stepmother, George and Phyllis Jamison of Canton, Maine; seven grandchildren; one brother, Stephen Jamison of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Terrene Smith of Rangeley, Maine, and Laura Gagne of Cumberland, Maine; nieces, nephews and his dog, Burt.

Matt was predeceased by his mother.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m . on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Meredith, Main and High streets, Meredith. Burial will be private.
