Marjorie Munsey Couture, 84, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away on Sept. 18, 2025. Marjorie was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Concord, to Herbert E. Munsey Sr., and Ruth M. Willard. Margie was married to Roger A. Couture for over 65 years, since May 14, 1960.
Margie spent her childhood in Gilmanton, where she attended a three-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade. From an early age, Margie carried with her both a love of community and a natural curiosity that shaped all aspects of her life.
Her hobbies reflected her boundless creativity. She found delight in scrapbooking, quilting, photography, and writing poetry, leaving behind a legacy of handmade treasures and memories. A lifelong learner and quick thinker, Margie was known for her sharp mind and knack for winning games. She was also deeply proud of her heritage, serving as circulation director for the Clan MacNaughton and remaining a lifetime member of the clan. She enjoyed traveling with Roger.
Among all her accomplishments, Margie was proudest of her role as a mother. Her love, warmth, and wisdom touched not only her family, but all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be remembered for her wit and incredible kindness she brought into the lives of others.
Margie is survived by her husband, Roger, her four children Kevin Couture (Val), Robert Couture (Deb), Karen Norman (Bernard), and Justin Couture (Sara); sister Jane Gove (Charlie), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother Herbert Munsey (Karen).
A memorial service will be held at Smith Meeting House Cemetery, 451-467 Meeting House Road, Gilmanton, at noon, on Saturday, Oct. 18.
In remembrance of Marjorie’s generous spirit, the family invites you to honor her by making a gift to a charity of your choice.
As Margie would say to Roger, I imagine her saying to you all now: "Mind how you go."
