Marion R. McAloon passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 98.

Marion was born on Nov. 5, 1927, in Manhattan, New York. Marion was a graduate of St. Catharine Academy in Washington Heights in 1945, and went on to the New York Business School focusing on stenography. She used these skills at ER Squibb in New York and later a career as a medical secretary at the Laconia State School.

Beyond her professional life, Marion was a vibrant and dedicated volunteer. She actively supported the Sanbornton Public Library and was an enthusiastic member of the TRIP Center in Franklin. Her passion for dance led her to become a volunteer leader for the senior line dancing class, where she shared joy and movement with her peers.

Marion received the prestigious Boston Post Cane for Sanbornton on Dec. 28, 2024.

Above all else, Marion found the most joy in her family. She had a warm and kind heart, a quick mind, selfless generosity, and quiet strength. Her home was her sanctuary.

Marion is survived by her loving daughter, Teresa McAloon, and her devoted son, John McAloon. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, Francis McAloon; her parents, John and Theresa (Hannas) Condon; and her sister, Ruth Conlon.

A Mass in her honor will be held at noon on Thursday, April 16, at St. Gabriel Parish Church, 110 School St., Franklin. A private celebration of life will be held after mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marion’s name to the Sanbornton Public Library, P.O. Box 88, Sanbornton, NH 03269, splnh.com.
