Margaret Alta “Peggy” Kulacz, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2025, at Concord Hospital in Concord, following a sudden illness. She was 83.
Born on Nov. 6, 1941, in Franklin, to the late William Faulkner Powden and Hazel Bailey Powden, Peggy was raised in the close-knit community of Bristol, and graduated from Bristol Memorial High School in 1960. A spirited athlete, she helped lead the girls’ basketball team to a Pemi League Championship in 1959-60, a memory she cherished throughout her life.
On Aug. 10, 1968, she married Frank Mike Kulacz of Franklin. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, hard work, and strong family values. She helped with the family business for many years, managing the ever-popular Franklin Dairy Bar, a local favorite on Route 3 in West Franklin, known for its Polish hamburgers and beloved ice cream.
After graduating from the Concord Hospital School for Medical Laboratory Technicians in 1976, Peggy worked as a lab technician at Concord Hospital for over 30 years, touching countless lives with her dedication and warmth.
She was active in her community as a member of the New Hampshire Eastern Star Sawhegenit Chapter #52 and served as treasurer on the Beaver Meadow Village Condo Association board, as well as on various committees.
Peggy found joy in simple pleasures — reading, cooking, traveling — and especially treasured the winters she and Frank spent at their home in Fort Myers, Florida. Her loyal dog Buddy was always close, bringing her comfort and endless joy.
Above all, Peggy loved her family deeply. She was a source of endless strength, kindness, and grace — and her presence touched everyone who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank M. Kulacz; her parents; and her brother, David B. Powden.
Peggy is lovingly remembered by her children, Debra Marie Beaupre of Bixby, Oklahoma, Albert “Skip” Z. Beaupre III and wife Michelle of Houston, Texas, and Kimberly Ann Carr of Andover; her grandchildren, Michael LaValley and wife Rachel, Joseph LaValley and wife Rebeca, Amanda Beaupre and husband Ryan Taylor, and Miles Frank Hurlbutt; she was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Clara Elizabeth LaValley, Ethan Thomas LaValley, Jasper Grover Beaupre, and Lilith Marie Beaupre; and her sister-in-law, Doreen Powden of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She also leaves behind nieces, extended family, close friends, and neighbors who will miss her warmth, spirit, and good humor.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held immediately afterward.
