GILFORD — A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joan C. Alward, 56, of 2761 Lake Shore Road and formerly a long time resident of Belmont, will be celebrated on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 6 High Street, Belmont. Mrs. Alward died suddenly at the Holy Cross Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Tuesday, May 18, 2004.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.

Survivors include her husband, Charles I. Alward, of Gilford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott E. and Jessica Alward, of Laconia, and Christopher C. and Rhonda Alward of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three grandchildren, Madison Kennedy Alward, Bradon McAlister Alward and Riley Cavanaugh Alward; her mother, Marion Cavanaugh of Gilford; her sister, Patricia Clement, of Gilford; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father and by a grandson, Logan Christopher Alward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joan C. Alward Memorial Scholarship, c/o Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 7312, Gilford, NH 03247-7312.
