Jennifer Lynn Derrick Canon, age 49, passed away Aug. 2, 2026, at her home.
Born in Laconia, on March 14, 1977, she was the daughter of Roxanne Whittier and the late Gerald Derrick.
Jennifer had a deep love for Pomeranians, being a dog mom and a lover of all animals. Jennifer enjoyed many things that involved fitness, dancing around the house and traveling with her husband whenever possible, especially to the ocean. Jennifer was spiritual and had great faith in God. She loved watching movies, especially those starring her all-time guy, Tom Cruise.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her daughter Madison, her father Gerald Derrick, and grandmother Barbara Nichols Whittier. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard Canon III of Gastonia, North Carolina; a son, Ryan Christopher and his wife Sydni; a daughter, Ashlee Alexis; her mother, Roxanne Whittier; brother Phillip Derrick of Concord; mother-in-law Christine and Bill Warburton of Hill; sister-in-law Angela McCarthy and her husband Erik; her closest cousin and friend Nikki and her husband Eric Rouille of Bristol; her grandfather, Medric Whittier of Laconia; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jennifer had the best smile and great laughter. She will be missed by many friends and family.
There will be a celebration of life to come at a later date.
