NEWPORT, Pa. — Janet W. Morrison, 101, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday Nov. 10, 2016. She was born Sept. 16, 1915, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Edson and Lillian (Cameron) Whitcomb. She grew up in Keene, New Hampshire, where she was a graduate of the former Keene State College and continued to teach in Keene and Laconia, New Hampshire, until her retirement and moved to Inverness, Florida.
Janet was the widow of Robert Morrison and is survived by her daughter, Nancy Roberts, with whom she lived; grandchildren Spencer Roberts (Riana), Susan Degen (John) and Michael Roberts; and great-grandchildren Hannah and Madison Degen and Michael, Liam and Nahiki Roberts. She was preceded in death by her son, Peter Morrison; brothers Gerry and John Whitcomb; and sister, Nancy Nolin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Stephens Episcopal Cathedral, 221 N. Front St., Harrisburg. with the Very Rev. Churchill Pinder officiating. Free parking is available at the PHFA parking garage located on River Street or the parking lot adjacent to St. Stephens School.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to St. Stephens Episcopal Cathedral, 221 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17101.
