James Alfred Davis Jr., 53, passed away at his home in Grafton on Nov. 23. He was born on Feb. 8, 1969, in Laconia, the son of James Davis Sr. and Bonnie (Goodwin) Davis.
James is survived by his wife, Carri (McKinley) Davis of Danbury; his parents, James and Bonnie Davis of Tilton; his sister, Chelsea (Davis) Tilton-Fogg and husband Scott Tilton-Fogg and their son Seth Tilton-Fogg of Tilton; his daughter, Darlene (Matthews) Dukette and her children Makayla and Brandon of Gilford; his daughter, Kia (Matthews) Sinclair and husband Jonathan Sinclair and their children Theo and Logan of Danbury; his son, Aaron Matthews of Gilford; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; his racing family and many friends are all left behind.
James, an honest family man, was a son, father, husband, brother, grandfather, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. He was a hard worker. He worked for many years for T&L Concrete, and he and his wife created their own business and were very proud of their work and were able to buy a beautiful piece of land and a nice truck.
He took great pride in his family. He enjoyed going on vacations down to Mom and Dad’s. He loved camping and fishing with his family. James spent a lot of time with his animals too. He was known for helping people — he even gave the jacket off his back to someone in need. He told his wife “not to tell” mom who had just bought it for him. This was the kind of man James was.
James had a passion for racing. He spent his best years at the track with his dad and many family and friends. He accomplished a lot during that time, obtaining a track championship in 1997 and many trophies along the way.
We will miss you until we meet again, Jim Jim, Love Dad and Mom.
Services were held on Dec. 1, at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home.
