GILFORD — Henry Reed Hoke III, 74, passed away in Concord Hospital-Concord on Aug. 21, 2025.
Hank was born on April 25, 1951, in Holis, New York, the son of the late Henry Reed Hoke Jr. and Jean (née Demmert) Hoke.
He lived a full and active life, embracing every opportunity to be outdoors and pursuing his lifelong passion for boating and automobiles. His enduring connection to Camp Tecumseh remained a central thread throughout the years, beginning as a camper and later continuing as a counselor and dedicated volunteer. Music was another of his great joys, and he shared his talent as the drummer for the band Rubber Band, where his energy and rhythm left a lasting impression on all who heard him play.
He enjoyed a successful career, retiring in 2006 as vice president of Hoke Communications, and gave generously of his time as a volunteer fireman for more than a decade in Garden City, New York. Above all, he will be remembered for his generous spirit, his kindness, and the enthusiasm with which he approached every chapter of life.
Hank is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Donovan) Hoke; daughters Emily (Michael) Tullo of Wantagh, New York, and Lucy (Dave) Lynch of Baldwin, Maryland; and Robert (Julie) Rotchford of Dedham, Massachusetts, Brian (Courtney) Rotchford of Hanover, and Barbara (Kevin) Elbrecht of New Hartford, New York; grandchildren James, Ryan, Braeden, Berkely, Matthew, Aidan, Sean, Owen, Katherine, Colin, Jake and Cameron. He also leaves behind his sister, Wendy (Stuart) Boysen, his special cousin Jean Farquhar, and his nephews Andrew, Scott, Mark and Todd.
