LACONIA — Helen E. Peavey, 104, passed away on Nov. 3, 2025, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia.

Helen was born on July 1, 1921, in Laconia, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Vachon) Chabot.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her grandchildren. She was very family oriented and will be missed by all who knew her. During World War II she worked at Lakes Region General Hospital, taking care of veterans coming home from the war.

Helen is survived by her daughter Patricia Moody; four grandchildren, Kathleen Fitzgerald and her husband Michael, Mark Greenwood and his wife Vicki, Tina M. Kelly and Cheri Kenison and her husband Scott; many great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Charlene Ascarrunz and her husband Dr. Rolando and their children Juan-Pablo Ascarrunz and wife Kimberly Soule Ascarrunz, Karla Carroll Ascarrunz and her husband Kevin Carroll, Camille Kimball and Heather Griffith; and nephews Kurt and his wife Ronda and Paul Barden.

In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Peavey; daughter Jeanine T. Leonard and her husband Arlo; grandson Rodney Moody; and two sisters, Irene Root and her husband Charles, and Theresa Baker and her husband Paul.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.

Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Bayside Cemetery, Union Avenue.
