FRANKLIN — Harold Charles Therrien Jr., age 77, ended his journey on Earth Jan. 30, 2026, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.

He was born on June 12, 1948, in Franklin, to Harold Sr. and Jeannette (Bowlby) Therrien. Harold attended schools in Franklin. He graduated from Daniell Junior High School in 1964 and Franklin High School in 1968.

Harold's sheer determination to conquer all the world had to offer led him to move to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1975 to join his best friend Mike. During his years there he learned to appreciate the history and the culture of the islands. He grew strong in his faith and enjoyed a career at KAIM AM & FM Radio which was owned by Billy Graham. Meeting Billy Graham was one highlight of his time there.

Harold returned to Franklin and became the custodian of the Congregational-Christian Church for 32 years. At the time of his death he was a 60 year member of the church, serving on many boards and committees.

Harold's love of people and life led him to reach out to people and help where he could. He joined the Meridian Lodge No. 60 where he was a master mason in good standing. He thrived under their guidance and made many lasting friendships. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and many unforgettable memories.

He is survived by his "baby" sister June and her husband Brian Weglarz of Franklin and his best friend from childhood Michael Riberdy of Colorado. His spirit will live in our hearts forever.

There will be a committal service in the spring at Franklin Cemetery.

Donations in his honor can be made to The Happy Hour Activity-Edna McKenna Fund at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303.
