LACONIA — Florinda “Rinnie” Jean Jansen, 84, of Landing Lane, passed away at Concord Hospital-Laconia, on May 10, 2026.
Rinnie was born on July 14, 1941, in West Stewartstown, the daughter of Jeanne F. (née Parsons) Caldwell and Stanley Pinckney.
She was a graduate of Laconia High School class of 1959.
Rinnie was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.
Rinnie led a varied life. Early on, she used her travel school experience to begin a career as a travel agent at Penny Pitou Travel Agency. As travel agent, Rinnie explored countless diverse locations around the world which enabled her to share her expertise with others seeking to travel. It was through this job that Rinnie met her second husband, John Jansen.
Rinnie also worked at the Laconia Clinic before she started her 20-year career working for the City of Laconia — in the children’s section of the Laconia Public Library. She thoroughly enjoyed and was appreciated by the community connections she made with the patrons (both young and old) at the library. Everyone who knew Rinnie knew her passion for reading so this was an ideal fit until she retired.
In addition to being an avid reader, Rinnie enjoyed listening to a variety of music daily and she also enjoyed a good movie and going to live entertainment. What is remarkable, her passion for music, movies and reading were handed down to her three daughters. Rinnie also enjoyed gardening, walking and being an organizer. She took pride in arranging monthly classmate luncheons and having the opportunity to catch up with old friends. Most importantly, Rinnie cherished any time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rinnie is survived by her daughters, Amy L. Ramsay of New Hampshire, Karen M. Zeedyk (Alan) of Florida, and Kimberly A. LaPierre of Colorado; five grandchildren, Christian Birt (Melissa) of Florida, Alexandra Zeedyk of Florida, Alan Zeedyk of Florida, Shauna LaPierre of Colorado and Brendan LaPierre of Colorado; her siblings, Peter Pinckney (Donna) of New Hampshire, Rosalie Nelson (Stephen) of Vermont, and Florence “Flossie” Ford of New Hampshire; and by two nephews and one niece. In addition to her parents, Rinnie is predeceased by her first husband, Richard Ramsay, her second husband, John Jansen, and nephews Michael Pinckney and Peter Pinckney Jr.
There will be a celebration of life from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 18, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in Rinnie’s memory be made to the Laconia Public Library, 695 N. Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
