He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Leah Bruce, Bill and Norma Bruce, and Marcia and Paul LaBelle; nieces and nephews Samantha, Alicia, Peyton (MacKenzie), Kayla and William; as well as great-nieces and nephews. In his later years, Eric received loving care from his friend and caregiver Marina De La Cruz. Eric was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Edna Schroeder, and his uncle, David Bruce.

Eric was born in Concord, Massachusetts, son of the late Frederick and Edna (née Bruce) Schroeder. He lived in Laconia, New Hampshire, for most of his life and worked at Shaw’s grocery store for many years. Eric was a proud Special Olympics athlete. He loved to spend time with his friends and family at the beach and you could often find him swimming down into the water with his legs pointed up in the air. Eric was a devout Christian who enjoyed Bible study and sharing time with his church friends at Calvary Bible Church in Meredith, New Hampshire.

He loved to dance and sing, take pictures, and do many different kinds of art. He especially loved The Muppets and was always happy to share the world of puppetry and his knowledge of Jim Henson. Most of all, Eric loved the theater. He was an actor in the TIGER Program at Plymouth State University, and he traveled to elementary schools throughout New England to perform. These days of acting brought many years of happiness to Eric.

Beyond all of Eric's likes and interests, he will be most remembered for his incredibly kind and loving heart. Eric's smile and hugs brought happiness and hope to so many. He brought light into every room and was a friend to many.
