SANBORNTON — Doris Eva Seymour, 88, of Philbrook Road, passed away on Sept. 25, 2025, at Forestview Manor in Meredith.

Doris was born on Sept. 29, 1936, in Laconia, the daughter of Lucius Gordon and Edith (Andrews) Seymour.

In June of 1954, Doris married the love of her life, Joseph W. Seymour Jr. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter and family. Their marriage was a true partnership, lasting until Joseph’s passing in 2006. Though he has been deeply missed, Doris found comfort in the many cherished memories of their years together.

She had a love for cooking, baking, and her family will always remember the joy she found in preparing meals and special treats. Each Christmas she carried on her tradition of making candy, a skill she first learned while working at Kellerhaus. She enjoyed taking long walks, spending summer days swimming, searching for treasures at yard sales, and creating ceramics, a hobby she loved for many years. She also enjoyed a night out bowling with friends or a quiet night at home knitting or crocheting. Above all, she cherished time with her family, where she found her greatest happiness. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the traditions she lovingly passed down, which will live on through those who loved her.

Doris is survived by her sons, Thomas Seymour and his wife Lisa, Patrick Seymour and his wife Lynda, and Michael Seymour and his wife Karen; two grandchildren, Joshua Seymour and Samantha Lyle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her five siblings.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to Forestview Manor, 153 Parade Road, Meredith, NH 03253, or Lakes Region VNA and Hospice, 186 Waukewan St., Meredith, NH 03253.
