HOLDERNESS — Deborah Lurie (Dupuis, Davis), 73, of Holderness, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 14, 2026. She courageously fought a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Lurie; her son Scott Davis, his wife Jessica, and granddaughter Harper of Andover; her brother Lennie Dupuis of Mississippi, and her two sisters, Linda Messenger and husband Bob of Newbury, and Bonnie Kidder and husband James of Barnstead; brother-in-law James Lurie and wife Carol of Plymouth. She will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Debbie grew up in Concord, and graduated from Concord High School in 1971. She later married Robert Davis who predeceased her in 1987. While living in Newbury, she and Bobby built their home. Many happy family memories were made while living on the lake.
Later, Deb met David, who became the love of her life, and moved to Holderness. She went on to work for the Holderness Police Department and Plymouth Furniture.
Deb was happiest when caring for her animals, especially her donkeys Remi, Fred and Barney, and her dogs George and Alex. She loved to ski, snowmobile, zip around the lake in a boat, and ride her motorcycle and her horses. She also enjoyed volunteering at Speare Memorial Hospital and the Temple B’nai Israel food festival.
Many thanks to Comfort Keepers and Lakes Region VNA for the excellent care given to Deb. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lakes Region VNA, 186 Waukewan St., Meredith, NH 03253.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Ave., Ashland.
Burial will be at a later date.
