BELMONT — Dawn M. Hughes, 51, of 26 Turkey Drive died May 1, 2005 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following a period of failing health. She was born in Laconia, March 27, 1954, daughter of Francis M. and Elizabeth A. (Lyons) Hughes. She lived in Groton, NH for over 9 years before moving to Tilton in 1994. She later moved to Belmont in 2001. Ms. Hughes attended Laconia schools and Adult Education. She was honored to be chosen as Easter Seals "Poster Child" in her youth by the March of Dimes Foundation. She also attended the Vocational Training Center for Work Opportunities. Family and friends enjoyed her witty sense of humor and fighting spirit. She will be missed by her cat "Wee-Bits."
Ms. Hughes was predeceased by her parents in 1997. Her family includes four sisters: Jean and her husband Lewis Caram of Lexington, Mass., Meredith Stockbridge of Belmont, Kim and her husband Glen Masters of Concord, and Holly and her husband Rodney Marston of Gilmanton Iron Works; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 4th at 11:00 AM in Union Cemetery in Laconia with burial following.
The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting with arrangements.
