David Edmund “Gunny” Gravelle, 70, died peacefully on Feb. 18, 2026, at Granite VNA in Concord, surrounded by his family.

David was born in Nashua, on Nov. 26, 1955, and was the son of the late Roger and Pauline M. (Dobens) Gravelle. He received his education in the Nashua school system and attended Nashua High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he often taught cold weather training in Norway. His unit deployed during Desert Storm and David ultimately retired with the rank of gunnery sergeant.

He was a skilled machinist specializing in lathe operations, applying his talent in numerous states including New Hampshire, Virginia, Tennessee and Maine.

David was a man of many passions and talents. In his younger years, he played the trumpet as a proud member of the Spartan Drum and Bugle Corps. As a Civil War enthusiast, he loved learning about the era and eagerly shared his knowledge with others. David never passed up the chance to spend time with friends and family, cherishing those moments deeply. One of his passions was expressed through cooking and grilling; whether preparing a meal for two or feeding a hall full of people, he could always be counted on to hunker down and serve something memorable. An active member of NHMRO and an avid motorcycle rider, he took every opportunity to hit the open road, no matter the destination. His bike was his pride and joy, and each September he eagerly anticipated his annual motorcycle trek with friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all, David treasured the time he spent with those he loved, especially his family.

He is survived by his two children, Ryan Gravelle and his life partner John True Bachelder III of Nashua, and Torie Morse and her husband David of Hudson; his six grandchildren, Jaelynn, Sophie, Emma, Ryan, Dominic and Isabelle. He is also survived by his three siblings, Raymond Gravelle, Susanne Couturier and Daniel Gravelle; his partner Rebecca Mohler of Epsom; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to David’s visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua. His funeral procession will be held from the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to noon, on Friday, May 29, and we will all proceed together to the Old St. Louis Cemetery for David’s graveside service with presentation of military honors.
