GILMANTON IRON WORKS — Constance “Connie” Widger, 98, passed away peacefully at Epsom Health Care Center on Jan. 11, 2024.

Born in Manchester, on March 30, 1925, she was the daughter of Dr. Edward F. and Grace M. (George) Keane.

Connie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Dr. William K. Widger Jr. of Meredith, sister Virginia (Keane) Aiken of Hopkinton, brothers Richard Keane of Contoocook and Lawrence Keane of Winter Haven, Florida, and son-in-law William "Lee" Fisher of Dover.

Survivors include her sister, Barbara (Keane) Hermanson and Eric of Sarasota, Florida; daughters Dorothy (Widger) Fisher of Dover and Barbara Widger and husband Edward Bailey of Manchester; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Fisher) Coulter and John Coulter Sr. of Boscawen, Danial Fisher and Michelle of Cary, North Caorlina, Peter Widger and Kenyon of Nashua, and Niels Widger and wife Colleen Flaherty of Brooklyn, New York; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Connie was loved as "Nonna" by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She lived in many different places but was happiest for the last 38 years at Crystal Lake, next door to Betty “Widge” Arms, her friend and sister-in-law. Spending time with family and friends were most special to her. She often repeated, "How did I get so lucky?"

A celebration of life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's name to Gilmanton Year Round Library, 1385 Route 140, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837.
