Christopher J. Sweeney Jr. died on July 1, 2025.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on Dec. 13, 1939, the son of Christopher J. Sweeney and Dorothea M. (Power) Sweeney. He was raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, graduated from Rindge Technical High School in 1957, attended Tufts University School of Engineering, and graduated from Boston College in 1962. He was an Internal Revenue agent for 33 years in Boston, and retired in 1995.
He married Kathleen M. Mooney/Taylor in 1984. They spent their summers at their condo in Weirs Beach, and winters in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Dorothea Redmond.
He is survived by his wife; his stepchildren, Gregory and Darren Taylor, Elizabeth Dingolo and Lori Kennedy; their children, Zachary, Erin, Meagan, Tuckerman and Myah; his sister Barbara and husband Robert Kenny; his brother Robert and his wife Maureen; nephews and nieces, William, John, Anne, David, Kristen, Carolyn, Timothy and Meredith.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Tardif Park, 51 Crescent St., Laconia.
Interment will be in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline, Massachusetts, at a later date.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home assisted in the arrangements.
