Beatrice “Bea” M. Vaillancourt, 92, of Northfield, passed away on May 23, 2026, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, after a period of failing health.

She was born in Tilton, on Feb. 15, 1934, daughter of George and Alice (Carignan) Greenwood. A lifelong resident of the Tilton-Northfield area she attended schools in Tilton. For several years she was employed by the former J.P. Stevens Woolen Mill in Franklin, and later worked in the dietary department at Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield. She and her husband had a home in New Port Richey, Florida, where they had wintered for 10 years. She as a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1698 in Franklin, and St. Anne Society. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church of St. Gabriel Parish in Tilton.

She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Vaillancourt, who died on Jan. 27, 2019; her sisters, Charlotte Bowne and Nancy Benwell; and brother, George Greenwood Jr.; and great grandson Damon.

Her family includes her five children: Daniel Murphy and wife Pam of Hill; William Murphy and wife Cindi of Northfield; Joseph Murphy and wife Linda of Northfield; Marie Lees and husband George of Franklin; and Susan Bean of Northfield. She also leaves her nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held in St. John Cemetery, in Tilton, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in memory of Bea may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton.
