GILFORD — Alice Gray Hewitt, 90, formerly of 14 Allen Road, died on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Mrs. Hewitt was born in Center Sandwich on July 31, 1923, the daughter of Richard and Silvia (Burnham) Gray. She had lived in the Lakes Region since 1946.
Mrs. Hewitt was a member of the Lakeport Woman's Club and a long standing member of the Hannah Frances Rebekah Lodge 41, Lakeport and of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport. She was married on May 16, 1944 to Linwood A. "Red" Hewitt. When he passed away on February 11, 1989, they had celebrated forty-five years of a loving and joyous relationship.
Family members include three sons, Doug McKenna of Gilford, Robbie Hewitt of Dover, David Hewitt of Andover and Anne Hewitt, David's wife, and their two children, Gregory and Justine.
According to Mrs. Hewitt's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
