GILFORD — Gilford High School Theatre will present “Carrie: The Musical” on Friday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. and Nov. 6-8 at 7:00 p.m. in the GHS Theatre.
Based on the classic novel by Stephen King, “Carrie: The Musical” is a modern and powerful retelling of a story that explores the effects of bullying, the struggle for acceptance, and the importance of kindness. Through its haunting score and emotional storytelling, Carrie delivers a message that resonates deeply with today’s audiences.
This year’s production features a talented cast of 27 performers, a mix of returning favorites and new faces to the GHS stage. Since auditions in early September, students have been hard at work bringing this compelling story to life through dedicated rehearsals and creative collaboration.
Behind the scenes, an equally impressive production team has been crafting every detail — from the music and choreography to the sets, costumes, and lighting design — to create a bold, stylized, and artistic interpretation of this powerful musical.
“‘Carrie: The Musical’ challenges both the cast and the audience to think about how we treat others and the lasting impact of our actions,” says the GHS Theatre Director Matt Demko. “Our students have poured their hearts into this production, and we’re so excited to share their hard work with the community.”
