LACONIA — “I have always had a passion for health/wellness. I spent nine years as a labor and delivery registered nurse before fully transitioning into aesthetics,” said Aimee Hebert, owner of Hideaway IV & Aesthetics.

Recently, the business relocated from a Village West, Gilford location to a modern and beautiful space at 39 Canal Street in downtown Laconia, bringing to life Hebert’s vision of a welcoming place to confer with and offer treatments for clients, always promoting healthy skin care.

Because she grew up in the Lakes Region, Hebert knows the importance of skincare and the effects of sun exposure due to time spent outdoors enjoying boating, swimming, water skiing, and more.

She said, “I was born and raised in Laconia, and I attended grades K-12 in the city. Later, I went to college in New Hampshire and became a registered nurse. This is the first business I have opened; however, I grew up in a family business. My family has owned Miles Marina, a business in the boating/transportation industry in Gilford, since 1984.”

After college, Hebert worked as a labor and delivery nurse, recalling, “I began travel nursing, which brought my family — me and my husband, Tom, and our two young sons — to south Florida, where we decided to stay. We sold our home in New Hampshire and bought a house in Florida, and I began working in the field of aesthetics as a part-time gig at a med spa when I wasn’t working nights catching babies. I loved bedside nursing, but I had found my niche with medical aesthetics.”

Hebert was aware she needed further education when she entered the field of medical aesthetics, and she spent countless hours continuing her education.

“I was back in the world of the classroom, getting hands-on education and working full time while raising a family. Being away from New England was hard because we missed the seasons and family,” she said.

Thus, Hebert said, “We decided to move back to New Hampshire, where I could share my experience and passion for aesthetics and IV nutrient therapy. It was at this point that Hideaway IV & Aesthetics was born. After we moved back, I bought an existing med spa, Lakes Cosmetic Institute in Gilford. Operations were a merged business as Lakes Cosmetic/Hideaway IV.”

The business is now titled Hideaway IV & Aesthetics.

When a new or current client walks into Hideaway IV & Aesthetics at 39 Canal Street, the interior will take their breath away, all newly revamped and decorated.

“We want clients to feel relaxed and welcomed into our new space, which complements the other growing businesses in the downtown revival,” Hebert said. “The demo and remodel occurred over eight months. The spa has a large, welcoming waiting area, chaise lounges, and all our retail items. Currently, we have four private treatment rooms: injectables, facials, waxing, and two private IV lounges.”

Hideaway IV & Aesthetics offers a variety of skincare products and regimens, including cosmetic injectables with neuromodulators such as Botox, dermal fillers, laser hair removal, microneedling, chemical peels, vitamin/nutrient therapy via IV and quick shots, medical-grade skincare, facials, and waxing.

Hebert said, “We have two employees (other than me) at Hideaway IV & Aesthetics, an administrative secretary and a medical director. We are leasing a space to Brenda Allen, the owner of Valor Esthetics. She provides all facial and waxing services.”

Clients can choose from a variety of services, the most popular being Botox and vitamin IVs/ injections. According to Hebert, IVs/vitamins are also gaining in popularity.

Hebert is well aware of the issues sun exposure and aging can cause to the skin. Because of this, she recommends medical-grade skincare products.

She said, “You get what you pay for, and you should invest in your skin. Some people don’t know that medical/pharmaceutical-grade skincare products like ours are held to a higher standard; they are above the threshold of products you will find elsewhere, because they have a number of active ingredients that will change your skin. Products you can get in other places are sold below that threshold of active ingredients. A good place to start is a medical grade cleanser, moisturizer (preferably one containing a retinoid), and sunscreen to be used daily, even in the winter.

“Also, an unconventional anti-aging modality I recommend is an injectable peptide called NAD+ ( Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). It is a peptide that is naturally occurring in our body, and as we age, we deplete it (much like collagen). The depletion of NAD+ is what contributes to and causes this umbrella term ‘aging’ (from the skin to cognitive function, to decrease in physical stamina and endurance.) This is huge; replacing this peptide can ‘turn back time,’ and at different doses, it can be used for anti-aging, neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and even for use in those with active or a history of addiction.”

In a world where many people are outdoors and love the sun, Hebert said her main concern is sun exposure, which is the number-one cause of aging skin. She stresses the importance of using sunscreen.

Lest one thinks Hideaway IV & Aesthetics is only for an older population, Hebert assures that anyone, male or female, and over age 18 can take advantage of the many services offered.

Content in the new space and eager to share it with clients, Hebert said, “I want to continue growing the business within our new, beautiful space and provide quality services in a relaxing atmosphere. I also hope to provide education and support while empowering clients to look and feel their best. It is important to me to educate clients on the benefits of nutrient and peptide therapy via IVs and shots. I hope the Hideaway name and reputation continues to grow. Who knows, maybe we will have multiple locations someday?”

“For me, Hideaway IV & Aesthetics isn’t just a business; it’s a passion and an outlet for empowering all who enter,” Hebert said. “I am lucky to have the right people in the right corner, seeing and believing in my vision. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.”
