PLYMOUTH — Jamie Hazel recently joined Mid-State Health’s behavioral health team. Hazel is a mental health counselor with a deep commitment to building meaningful, respectful relationships with her patients and creating safe spaces where people of all ages can feel supported on their journey toward emotional well-being.

Hazel earned both her bachelor of science in psychology and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Plymouth State University. While completing her graduate studies, she focused on eating disorders, and specialization that continues to shape her approach to care. Her clinical work spans a broad range of emotional and mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive patterns, and body image issues. She is especially attuned to the challenges of perfectionism and grief, and works closely with patients to process complex emotions, cope with medical diagnoses, and build a stronger sense of self-confidence.

Her approach to care is grounded in honesty, empathy, and the belief that every individual already has the tools within them to grow, she simply helps them discover how to use them.

“I see myself as a guide,” Hazel said. “My goal is to support people in creating their best selves. I truly care how my patients are doing, and I value the opportunity to connect with each of them on a deeper level.”

Hazel was drawn to Mid-State Health because of its integrated model of care. She believes strongly in the power of a team-based approach, where providers across different specialties work together to offer patients the wraparound support they need. “When you come to Mid-State, you’re not just seeing one provider, you’re becoming part of a network of care designed to support your whole health.”
