GILMANTON — The Gilmanton Year-Round Library announced that the annual Holiday Silent Auction will conclude on Dec. 9. Area residents are encouraged to stop by the GYRL to bid on themed baskets of goodies, homemade items to include hats, socks, scarves, and an antique quilt to help stave off the cold weather. Hand-crafted herbal seasonings, soaps will also be available to bid on. Gift certificates from area businesses, which have always been a favorite bid item, will include eating establishments such as Johnson’s Restaurant, Fratellos and Burrito Me. Generous bid item gifts have also been provided by JP China, Evolution Rock and Fitness, Emma’s Doll Shop, Krazy Kids, Gibson’s Bookstore, MC Cycles and Merrill Fay Ice Arena.
This event continues to provide funding to help support the programs offered by the GYRL.
As in past years, the Lakes Region Chordsmen will be performing holiday music at the library Friday, Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the concert, bidding on all items will be finalized – it ain’t over ’till the Chordsmen sing.
Successful bidders will be notified and may pick up their items beginning Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. Library hours are from 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For details, call 364-2400.
