WOLFEBORO — A winter farmers market will open downtown on Saturday, Nov. 14, and continue on the second and fourth Saturday of each month through April 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will be located in the First Congregational Church, 115 South Main St., with convenient on-site parking and easy access for all.

The Wolfeboro Area Farmers Market, a nonprofit organization, hosts a summer market at Clark Park and has rounded up many of the summer vendors for the winter market, along with some new ones.

"We're excited about this central location," said board Chairman Fred Martin. "We expect that a market right in downtown Wolfeboro will provide a welcome place for the community to come together during the winter months to shop for lots of excellent local agricultural fare."

According to Martin, at least 15 vendors are expected, with applications still being reviewed by the board. The organization ran a winter market in Ossipee last year, and the board voted to bring the market to downtown Wolfeboro to better meet the needs of its customers.

Interested vendors may contact Market Manager Kathey Wotton, at 539-8134 or by e-mail at wotton farm@gmail.com. A vendor application is available at the organization's website at www.WolfeboroArea FarmersMarket.com.

The Wolfeboro Area Farmers Market is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors and was founded in 2002 through the vision of local farmers and citizens who wanted to provide a central venue to sell directly to their neighborhood customers.
