The Lakes Region United Way (LRUW) has organized a golf event on Friday May 14th to exclusively support the Greater Plymouth Area Caregivers. The 10:30 am shot gun start, sponsored by Meredith Village Savings Bank will take place in Campton, at the prestigious Owl’s Nest Golf Club. Additional sponsorships and foursomes are still needed to ensure a successful event.
The LRUW currently invests over $60,000 in social service programs that form the underpinning to the Greater Plymouth community. "We believe a community will be measured by how it deals with the young, the elderly, the disadvantaged and those whose fortune may not measure up to our own," said LRUW President Jack Terrill. "Whether it is our Drive to Halt Hunger, Homelessness and Domestic Violence, or our Road Map for Children and Families at Risk, or our Initiative for Independent Living, we take our role in the community seriously. Delivering over 6,300 points of service in Greater Plymouth means that many lives have been changed for the better. But our work is not done."
“Currently we raise less than 50% of our Greater Plymouth funding from the Greater Plymouth area," said Terrill. "We need to build a better connection so that we can continue funding the vital work delivered by so many caregiving people. I ask you today to participate in the upcoming Golf Tourney at Owl’s Nest in Campton. Choose your level, whether it be playing, sponsoring, or both, or even just volunteering to help make this day a success. We need your help.”
