GILFORD — The Gilford Historical Society announces that their historic Union Meetinghouse on Belknap Mountain Road will be open immediately after the Gilford parade on Memorial Day, May 26. This building dates to 1834, and is on the New Hampshire Register of Historic Places.
The Society's collection of military articles and records will be highlighted. This also will include military uniforms from several different eras and branches of service. Visitors are welcome to come and talk, or write about their own Memorial Day memories and observances. Visitors can also get to experience the sense and experiences of these past years from the Historical Society readings and displays.
