The 2005 New Hampshire Growers’ Dinner series returns to The Shaker Table restaurant at the Canterbury Shaker Village on August 3. The Shaker Table hosted the first dinner of the series in June and Chef Sebastian Carosi has developed another multi-course affair featuring produce grown in the Shaker Village gardens as well as products from nearby New Hampshire farms.

Growers’ Dinners are promotional events coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a program linking New Hampshire farms with New Hampshire restaurants. Growers’ Dinners highlight local farm products and its producers. Chefs create special dishes that feature the products of selected New Hampshire farmers.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a garden tour at the Canterbury Shaker Village. At 6 p.m. guests will join Chef Carosi on the patio for a tasty selection of hors d’oeuvres. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m. with a six course meal highlighted with several wines from Jewell Towne Vineyards of So. Hampton.

Space is limited at this unique event and reservations are required. For dinner details, call The Shaker Table at 783-4238. For more information about the NH Farm to Restaurant Connection, contact Gail McWilliam Jellie at the NH Dept. of Agriculture, Markets & Food, tel. 271-3788.
