Snow Dragon Mountain Farm in the Chemung area will offer a bread-baking class on how to make classic sourdough on Saturday morning, January 30, from 9 a.m. to noon. Everyone will learn how to make sourdough starter, knead by hand, tips for baking to perfection, and how to keep your starter for a lifetime.
Sourdough is a dough containing a lactobacillus culture. The Lactobacilli is a living culture of active, friendly, pro-biotoic culture that live in the intestines of the human body. They help to break down hard to digest gluten into more easily absorbed nutrients, while adding an army of B vitamins at the same time. Sourdough is distinctive in its health-promoting qualities and its delicious taste.
