BARNSTEAD — The Barnstead-Alton-Gilmanton Republican Committee (BARC'G) has announced will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at J.J. Goodwin's Restaurant on Rte. 28 in Center Barnstead.

Guest speaker is former NH State Senator Jim Rubens, who announced last September that he would be challenging current U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen in the November 2014 election. Rubens will share his reasons for choosing to run, discuss where he stands on the issues, and explain why he feels he's the candidate who can best represent New Hampshire in Washington, D.C.

BARC'G meetings are open to Republicans and like-minded Independents from Alton, Barnstead, and Gilmanton, and any other towns in New Hampshire. Per the usual meeting format, those interested in having dinner or who wish to socialize before the meeting, should plan to arrive as early as 5:30 p.m.

The committee reminds guests to bring a non-perishable food item (cans of soup, tuna fish, etc, etc) to the meeting for distribution to local food pantries.
