Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to attend a free program with their parents on Saturday, May 7 at Interlakes Elementary School in Meredith from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. "Got Kids? Improving Sibling Relationships

and Family Communication" will be presented by Dr. Leo Sandy and Dr. Gail Mears, Plymouth State University, and PSU students. The whole family will enjoy this interactive program on understanding sibling dynamics, ways to improve family communication, and skills for resolving conflict. Children will present skits of real situations during this interactive, fun for all program with assistance from PSU college students.

A follow-up program, The Basics of Raising Children Today will be held at Interlakes Elementary School in Meredith from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11. Dr. Leo Sandy will lead this program for parents who

attend the Got Kids? Program, but will share tips with all interested parents. This presentation will answer the questions: What do children need? Why are parents so important? What do parents do to protect children

from negative influences? How do parents find a balance between their needs and the need of their children? This workshop focuses on answers to these questions to help parents effectively deal with the day-to-day ups and downs of raising children today.
